We are

Tawa tribe

There is no box to tick and perfection is not required. We welcome you just where you are to guide and share your yoga journey.

We want you to discover how good it is to let go, to breathe, to help you re-learn how to truly relax so you can rise above the stresses of the everyday. Yoga is not about a look, it’s about how you feel. We want you to walk out of our yoga classes at our Brisbane studio feeling lighter, clearer and rejuvenated.

I am creating. Creating through photography, painting, drawing, cooking or sewing. Especially when the kids join in!

Lots of giggles to bring you back into the moment.

I’m dancing! Whether that’s with earphones in dancing around my bedroom or at a dance class.

A lot of electronic music, but still love bangers from the early 2000’s.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

Dedicated and gentle guidance, while learning to explore the potential capabilities of your own body.

Off the mat I am happiest when:

I’m out somewhere camping in the campervan with my partner, Jordan and my German Shepherd dog Nisha.

Any song from Lenny Kravitz.

Personal mantra:

Love yourself, Love the Animals, Love the Planet.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

It is my hope our shared yoga practice will create SPACE for you.  Space for Connection, for energy to flow, for healing and a space for balance.  Yin and Yang, dark and light, cold and hot.  Fingers crossed you will find in your practice ‘Sthira Sukham Asanam’ meaning strength, steadiness and stability whilst being relaxed, joyful and comfortable in the physical poses. And lots of Self Love.

Off the mat I am happiest when:

My physical happy place is the beach with Zappy (this lifetime she’s a dog) Summer or Winter, Sun or Rain, being in the ocean is a essential tool in my happiness tool kit.

I jam to:

Cicadas, frogs, and birds and the whispers of the trees.  I’m laughing at myself as I write this but it’s true, I find there are so many beautiful joys in the sounds of nature.  You will often find my radio tuned to ABC Classical and I also love the dirty rocking sounds of the The Cruel Sea album Over Easy.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

Having studied dance when I was younger, my yoga classes are creative and fluid. There is a nice balance between moving with breath and finding stillness in the pose.

There may be an option to play on the hands as well. Come journey through self inquiry and let’s dance with breath.

Off the mat I am happiest when:

Hiking in the forests or a mountain, exploring the World and trying exciting things, having a good dance.

I jam to:

Anything that’s catchy and has a good rhythm or beat.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

In my vinyasa flow yoga class, you will find playful movement to flow through poses, connected with the breath, connected to yourself, I would like everyone to get the most out of every pose by making it their own and creating a mind body connection. Let Yoga be your best friend. Yoga is love!

Off the mat I am happiest when:

Drawing, art is another way to express my feelings and passion. Yoga & Art linked together that makes you connected with your soul and your breath. Drawing requires a lot of patience and concentration, to reflect on my thoughts and ideas and give me inner peace! It provides a sense of satisfaction to the soul – The art of Mediation!

Personal mantra:

Wherever you go, there you are! Not my words but I live by this.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

Steady paced flows with a focus on strength, breath and mindful movement.  Space to explore the nuances of a pose fully.  I encourage the practice of ‘being’ rather than ‘getting to’.

Off the mat I am happiest when:

Spending time with my daughter and husband; eating good food, drinking good wine and watching anything sci-fi/fantasy related.

I jam to:

70’s rock, strong female singers and at the moment… the Frozen II soundtrack it seems.

Everything is Perfect. Everything can be improved.

What to expect in my yoga classes:

Drawing from my experience of more than a decade of self practice, we will explore asanas in a fun & accessible manner.   I use the principles of vinyasa krama to design my yoga classes – starting with Breath awareness, a good warm up, moving through a variety of postures that will challenge you, strengthen you and create more mobility and end with a relaxing Savasana.

Off the mat I am happiest when:

I am outdoors, spending time with friends & family.

I jam to:

Good vibes and uplifting beats.
